Photography

Because we do websites for a couple of different kinds of small businesses, and because we know (all too well!) that small business folks are pretty busy people, we understand that it's sometimes difficult to get out there and take pictures for a website!. So we decided to offer picture-taking for our website clients.

We aren't professional photographers, nor are we professional property stagers. On the other hand, we aren't exactly new to taking pictures: We both started into SLR photography, ah, well, let's just say that it was about three decades ago.

Pricing. Darned good question. The professional photographers that we know charge quite a lot, but they also deserve it, too, because they're darned good. Humming and hawing around, we finally decided just to charge for photography the hourly rate that we charge for websites. That'll include digital pictures delivered to the client either via email or on CD. We don't promise a specific number of pictures; it'll be a bunch of them.

We do require a minimum prepayment of $15 per project. Once the project is finished, and you're satisfied with the pictures, we settle up (which may involve more money to us or even money back to you in case of an overcharge from the prepayment). If you aren't satisfied with the pictures, you pay no more.

By the way, when we do hourly rates, we actually charge by the minute, not by the hour: You pay only for the time in minutes spent on the task; you don't pay for partial hours, coffee breaks, breaks to watch CSI on TV, telephone calls, or other interruptions.
